Tea & Scones at Four

The Queen of England has her tea at four in the afternoon, so we follow that tradition and offer a fresh pot of" Mad Hatter Tea Party" Earl Gray Tea and a freshly baked scone to our guests. Sometimes we have American scones and sometimes we have a traditional English scone. We are unable to have Devonshire cream straight from England, as in the U.S. we require it to be pasturized and theirs is not. So we make our own. Along with some strawberry jam, we think you will love it!

Just so you will know, a cup of tea and a scone dressed with strawberry jam and Devonshire cream is know as a "Cream Tea". It is not as formal as the famous "High Tea or Afternoon Tea", nor is there a full meal involved. It is what most ordinary people in England have in the afternoon in order to slow down and regroup for the evening. It is a lovely tradition.
